While preparing the composer Handel’s house in Mayfair for opening as a museum in 2001, the ghost of a woman was repeatedly encountered. The air would thicken and a startlingly tall woman would appear before terrified staff.

In the end, managers called in exorcists after fears the ghoul would affect business. Jimi Hendrix reportedly saw this ghost when he lived next door in the late 1960s.
